Te mapa
Taytay lies just beyond Metro Manila, in the province of Rizal. Its streets climb from low ground near Laguna de Bay towards the first hills in the east. On a map the lowlands are a tight mesh of barangay streets. Main roads cross them towards Antipolo and Cainta, and on the higher ground the roads start to curve with the slope.
Taytay is widely known as a garment-making centre. Its large tiangge markets sell clothing made in local workshops, and buyers come from across the country. The town is also one of the older settlements in Rizal, with a parish church that dates back to the Spanish period.
A Taytay map poster captures a place where city and landscape meet. The western and southern edges touch water and flood-control channels. The centre is dense, and the eastern edge begins to open out into hillside subdivisions and green space. It is a busy street pattern with clear edges.
Taytay's southern boundary reaches the northern shore of Laguna de Bay, the country's largest lake. On the map this edge is low and flat, with fishponds and waterways breaking up the grid.
The tiangge district that made the town known for clothing sits along its main commercial roads. It shows up as a tight cluster of small blocks and lanes.
Towards Antipolo the land rises and the roads start to wind. Planned subdivisions follow the contours, which gives the eastern part of the map a softer, flowing look.

For people from Rizal, or anyone who has spent a Saturday in the Taytay markets, this map is a reminder of home ground. It shows the lakeshore, the old centre and the roads leading up into the hills.
