The town strings along the regional road connecting it with Mae Sot to the south, so the map reads as one clear spine with houses and lanes gathered on either side.

Te mapa
Mae Ramat is a district town in Tak province, in the hilly country north of Mae Sot close to Thailand's border with Myanmar. From above the settlement is modest: a main road running through a valley floor, with short side streets, temple grounds and farm plots branching off it before the land rises into forested hills.
The Moei River, which marks much of the border in this part of Tak, runs to the west of the district, and smaller streams drain the valleys toward it. On a map these waterways and the contours of the ridges shape where roads can go, so the street pattern follows the terrain instead of a planned grid.
A Mae Ramat map poster works best as a portrait of a place and its setting rather than of dense urban blocks. The thin line of the main road, the clusters of houses along it and the open space around them give a quiet, spacious design that suits a town of this size.
The town strings along the regional road connecting it with Mae Sot to the south, so the map reads as one clear spine with houses and lanes gathered on either side.
Wooded ridges close in on the valley floor, and the settled area thins quickly toward them. That leaves generous white space around the town on the printed poster.
Small watercourses run through the district toward the Moei River, and the fields along them break the land into irregular parcels that add fine detail around the town.

For people from Mae Ramat, or those who have worked or volunteered in western Tak, this map records a specific valley and road that rarely appears on printed maps. Because the layout is simple, the finished print looks calm and uncluttered.
