Te mapa
Maghar lies in the flat, fertile country of eastern Uttar Pradesh, in Sant Kabir Nagar district, between Gorakhpur and Basti. From above it is a compact town. Dense lanes gather around a few main roads, and fields, ponds and scattered villages surround it on every side. The street pattern grew over time rather than being planned, so the map has an intricate, hand-drawn quality.
The town is known across India as the place where the fifteenth century poet-saint Kabir died. Tradition holds that he chose Maghar on purpose, against the old belief that dying here was inauspicious. Today a Hindu samadhi and a Muslim mazar in his memory stand side by side, a shared site that still draws pilgrims.
A Maghar map poster keeps the town’s modest scale and the plain around it. The dense core, the roads leading out to neighbouring towns and the open agricultural land together give a clear picture of a place whose importance comes from its history more than its size. It is a quiet map for a place with a long spiritual association.
The complex honouring Kabir, with its samadhi and mazar next to each other, is the town’s best-known landmark and an important reference point on the map.
Narrow, winding streets packed closely together form the heart of Maghar. They create a fine, intricate texture that contrasts with the open land beyond.
The town sits in wide, flat farmland dotted with ponds and small villages. On the poster much of the surrounding space stays light and uncluttered.
