From above, Mahbūbābād reads as a dense, compact centre surrounded by fields. The town grew as a market and administrative place in the Telangana uplands, and its streets form an irregular web rather than a planned grid, tightening near the core and thinning out as the roads leave town toward neighbouring villages. The railway is the strongest straight line on the map.
