Te mapa
Makurdi, capital of Benue State in north-central Nigeria, is built on both banks of the Benue River, one of the largest rivers in West Africa. From above, the river dominates everything: a wide, braided channel with sandbanks that shift with the seasons, cutting the city into a southern and a northern part. Streets spread out from the banks in a loose network that follows the flat, open land.
Two long crossings, a road bridge and a railway bridge, span the Benue at Makurdi and appear on the map as fine straight lines over the water. The main town lies on the southern bank, with government offices, markets and residential districts, while the North Bank has grown along the roads that meet the bridges on the far side.
Benue State is often called the Food Basket of the Nation for its farm output, and Makurdi is the market and administrative centre of that agricultural region, as well as a university town. A Makurdi map poster shows the city where it really lives, on the edge of a great river, with the water as a wide open space through the centre of the design.
A broad, braided river runs across the city, with sandbars and shifting channels that make the water the most dramatic element of the whole poster.
Road and rail bridges stretch across the Benue, drawn as thin, confident lines connecting the southern town with the North Bank.
On the far side of the river, a separate cluster of streets has grown along the approach roads, giving the map two halves in conversation across the water.

Koteā ko Makurdi
Makurdi is a city many people pass through for study, government work or service postings, and a map of it keeps that chapter of life in view. For those born here, the river and the bridges are the clearest image of home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a year, a campus or a family name. The design comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
