Te mapa
Malpe lies on the Arabian Sea coast of Karnataka, a short distance west of Udupi. Its map is defined by water on several sides. A long, straight beach runs along the coast, and a river mouth to the north holds one of the busiest fishing harbours on this part of the coast, with its docks and jetties clearly visible from above.
Offshore, small islands break the open sea. The best known is St. Mary's Island, with its unusual columnar basalt formations, reached by boat from Malpe. On land, the town's streets run between the harbour, the beach and the coconut groves, forming an irregular pattern that follows the coast and the river.
A Malpe map poster shows a coastal town shaped by fishing and the sea. The long coastline, the harbour basin and the islands make a composition with plenty of open space and a few strong lines. It suits people from the Udupi area and visitors who remember the beach and the boat trip to the islands.
The harbour at the river mouth is lined with docks and jetties. Its breakwaters and basins form sharp, detailed shapes against the open water.
A long, straight sandy beach runs along the coast. It forms the clean western edge of the town, with the sea filling the rest of the frame.
Small islands lie offshore, including St. Mary's Island with its basalt columns. On the poster they appear as isolated shapes in the open sea.

Koteā ko Malpe
Malpe stays with people: fishing families, students from nearby Manipal and Udupi, and visitors who went to the beach or the islands. A map of its coast and harbour is a calm, clean reminder of time spent on the sea.
