Te mapa
Metlili, often called Metlili Chaamba, lies in Ghardaïa Province in the northern Algerian Sahara, a short distance south of the M'zab valley. The town follows the course of a wadi, a riverbed that carries water only rarely, and its built area and palm gardens stretch along that line. Around it, the stony plateau known as the chebka extends in every direction.
The second part of the name refers to the Chaamba, a tribal confederation historically associated with this part of the desert and with camel herding and caravan routes. The palm grove remains a defining feature, with irrigated gardens sheltered close to the wadi where groundwater is within reach.
A Metlili Chaamba map poster shows an oasis in plan: dense lanes packed together in the older quarters, newer blocks laid out more regularly, the elongated green of the palm grove, and the dry riverbed winding past. The surrounding desert becomes open, quiet space that gives the town its strong outline.
The dry riverbed runs alongside the town and shapes where houses and gardens were built, adding a sinuous natural line across the map.
Irrigated palm gardens form a long, textured band near the wadi, clearly distinct from both the built area and the surrounding desert.
The older part of town is made of tightly packed lanes typical of Saharan settlements, which print as a dense, finely detailed cluster.

Koteā ko Metlili Chaamba
For families from Ghardaïa Province or travellers who have crossed the northern Sahara, this map records a place defined by water scarcity and careful building. Its contrast of dense town and open desert also makes it a striking image on its own.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised in the wording you prefer, including French or Arabic transliterations. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; the Sand style is a natural fit for a desert town.
