Te mapa
Miyama sits at the southern edge of Fukuoka Prefecture, pressed against the border with Kumamoto. The city was formed in 2007 when the towns of Setaka, Takata and Yamakawa merged, and the map still carries that history. Instead of a single centre there are several clusters of streets, each with its own station area and older lanes, set among fields that fill the gaps.
The western part of the city is flat, open land on the plain that runs towards the Ariake Sea, cut into rectangles by irrigation channels and farm roads. Heading east, the terrain lifts into hills with orchards and forest, and the street lines grow sparse and bend along the contours. Rail lines and the expressway cross the plain in long, straight strokes.
A Miyama map poster captures that shift from plain to hill in one frame. The clusters of the three former towns show as denser knots of line, the paddies as a fine lattice, and the eastern slopes as a softer, emptier space. It is a map of a rural city that works quietly and has more texture from above than its size would suggest.
Setaka, Takata and Yamakawa each keep their own compact street cluster, so the poster shows several small cores rather than one downtown.
On the western plain, farm roads and irrigation channels divide the land into regular plots that print as a fine, even grid.
Towards the Kumamoto border the land rises into orchard slopes and forest, where roads thin out and follow the curves of the terrain.

Koteā ko Miyama
This map suits someone with roots in the Chikugo area, or anyone who likes the look of farmland from above. The mix of small town grids and field patterns gives it a gentle rhythm that works in a hallway or study.
Add a family name, a year or a line in Japanese as the title, and adjust the coordinates line underneath. Pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint, and choose a digital download or a framed print.
