Te mapa
Morombe is a coastal town in southwestern Madagascar, set on a low, sandy stretch of shore beside the Mozambique Channel. From above, the coastline is the defining line. A long, gently curving beach runs past the town, with shallow water and reef flats offshore, and the streets form a loose band behind it. Inland the land is flat and dry, crossed by sandy tracks.
Further up the coast, the Mangoky River, one of the largest rivers in southern Madagascar, reaches the sea through a wide delta of channels and mangroves. Between that delta and the open coast, Morombe has always been a place of boats and fishing, and outrigger pirogues drawn up on the sand are part of everyday life along the shore.
Much of this coast is home to the Vezo, a people known for their seafaring and fishing traditions, and the dry forest inland includes the baobabs typical of southwestern Madagascar. A Morombe map poster captures the balance of the place: a slender settlement, a long shoreline and the edge of a vast channel of water stretching toward Africa.
The town's entire western edge is coastline, a long, smooth curve of beach and shallow water that gives the map a strong, clean boundary.
North along the coast, the Mangoky River fans out into a delta of channels and mangroves. It is part of the wider landscape that shaped Morombe's life on the water.
Streets are laid out loosely behind the shore, some running parallel to it and some leading inland. The arrangement is simple and open and reads well in black and white.

Koteā ko Morombe
Morombe lies far from most travel routes, which makes a map of it personal. For people who have lived, worked or researched here, or who have family on the southwest coast, it records a specific shoreline and the town that faces it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, and the map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download all six print sizes for $9, or start with a free 900 px watermarked preview.
