Te mapa
Muttanampālaiyam lies on the southeastern side of Tiruppur in western Tamil Nadu, part of the urban area that has grown around one of India's best-known knitwear and garment centres. From above it reads as a patchwork: close-packed residential streets in some blocks, larger workshop and industrial footprints in others, and open plots still waiting between them.
The street pattern is practical rather than planned in a single sweep. Short lanes feed onto a handful of main roads that link the area with central Tiruppur and outlying towns, and the result is a web of connections that becomes denser toward the city and more open further out.
A Muttanampālaiyam map poster shows a working district in the middle of change. The drawing holds the contrast between tight housing lanes and wider industrial parcels, a pattern shaped by decades of growth in the garment trade, and it gives people who live or work here a precise, local view of a place usually lost inside the larger city map.
Narrow streets of houses form compact, fine-grained blocks, the most detailed parts of the map and the texture that gives the poster its density.
Larger rectangular plots belonging to units linked to Tiruppur's knitwear industry interrupt the housing pattern, creating broad blank shapes among the lines.
Main roads run from the neighbourhood toward central Tiruppur, drawing the eye across the frame and tying this local area into the wider city.
