Te mapa
Mwinilunga is the main town of its district in Zambia's North-Western Province, close to the borders with Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The town is compact, with a simple network of streets around its centre. On the map it appears as a small, orderly settlement surrounded by miombo woodland, streams and wide stretches of open land.
This is the headwater country of the Zambezi. The river's source, a spring in a patch of forest, lies a short distance to the north, and the West Lunga river runs by the town. Streams and marshy grasslands, known locally as dambos, thread through the landscape and give the map a delicate, branching texture.
Mwinilunga is known across Zambia for its pineapples, grown widely in the surrounding area. A Mwinilunga map poster shows a remote town in its landscape: a few straight roads, a river and a network of watercourses spreading toward the high ground between the Zambezi and Congo basins.
The river runs past the town, its course winding through woodland and grassland. It is the clearest natural line near the settlement.
Shallow grassy valleys and streams branch across the landscape. On a black-and-white map they create a fine, tree-like pattern around the town.
A compact group of streets forms the core, with roads leaving toward the district's villages and the borders. The small grid is easy to read at a glance.
