Te mapa
Nacimiento lies in Chile's Biobío region, where the Vergara river joins the Biobío. The town was founded in the early seventeenth century as a Spanish fort on the Biobío frontier, the line that long separated Spanish territory from Mapuche lands. From above, its orderly grid sits on high ground by the rivers, with water shaping its northern and western edges.
The Biobío is one of Chile's largest rivers, and at Nacimiento it forms broad channels and sandbanks that stand out clearly on the map. A bridge crosses the water, and roads lead away into farmland and forestry plantations that cover much of the surrounding hills.
A Nacimiento map poster brings together these historical and natural layers. The regular blocks of the town recall its origins as a frontier post, while the rivers add sweeping curves and open space. It is a strong, balanced composition, with a clear urban centre surrounded by water and rolling land.
The meeting of the Vergara and Biobío rivers gives the town its setting, with wide curving channels that frame the built-up area on the map.
The town centre keeps a regular grid of streets, reflecting its origins as a Spanish fort and later settlement on the Biobío frontier.
A bridge carries the road across the broad river, a strong horizontal line that connects the town with the land on the other bank.
