Te mapa
Nam Định lies in the southern part of the Red River Delta in northern Vietnam, on land so flat that water shapes almost everything on the map. The Đào River, a distributary of the Red River, runs along the city's edge, and around the urban core the landscape breaks into a patchwork of rice fields, irrigation canals, villages and small ponds.
The city has long been an industrial and cultural centre of the delta. Under French rule it became known for textiles, and its large textile mill made Nam Định one of the country's main manufacturing towns. The area is also closely linked to the Trần dynasty, whose ancestral temples stand on the city's northern side.
A Nam Định map poster shows a compact centre of straight streets and lakes giving way to the more organic pattern of the delta. The river frames one side, while canals and roads radiate out into the fields, a picture of how a city grows out of farmland that has been worked and irrigated for centuries.
A broad distributary of the Red River curves along the city, forming its clearest natural edge and the main line of the whole composition.
Small lakes and ponds sit among the downtown streets, adding calm open shapes to an otherwise even, closely built centre.
Irrigation channels and field roads spread outward from the city in long lines, mapping the agricultural landscape of the surrounding plain.

Koteā ko Nam Định
Nam Định carries family history for many Vietnamese at home and abroad, and a map is a clear, restrained way to hold on to it. The contrast of river, lakes and fields gives the design real depth.
You can add a title, a subtitle and your own coordinates line, in Vietnamese or English. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper gives the delta a soft, printed-ledger feel.
