Te mapa
Haiphong is northern Vietnam's main seaport, set on the edge of the Red River delta where several river channels reach the Gulf of Tonkin. On a map the city is defined by water: the Cam River runs along the northern side of the urban core, and other channels, such as the Lach Tray, cut through the surrounding land on their way to the sea.
The older centre has a compact grid of streets laid out during the French colonial period, with the opera house and a string of small lakes and parks at its heart. Further out, port facilities line the riverbanks, and newer districts spread across flat delta land that was long used for rice fields and fishponds.
The municipality stretches far beyond the city itself, taking in the Do Son peninsula to the southeast and Cat Ba Island out in the gulf. Haiphong is also known as the city of red flamboyant trees, which bloom along its streets each summer. A Haiphong map poster brings the river channels, the port and the coastline together in one clear layout.
The broad river curves along the north of the city centre, lined with port facilities, and forms the main edge of the urban area on the poster.
A small, regular grid of streets around the opera house and central lakes marks the old town, finer and more orderly than the districts around it.
Several rivers and canals divide the land into islands and wedges, so the map is crossed by curving waterways that set the shape of each district.

Koteā ko Haiphong
Haiphong has a strong local identity, and people from the city often feel it keenly when they live elsewhere. A map poster shows the rivers and streets they know best, and it suits anyone connected to the port or the coast.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can add a family name, a district or a date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and order a matte print with an optional wooden frame or download the HD files.
