Te mapa
Namwala is a district town in Zambia's Southern Province, set beside the Kafue River. On a map it appears as a modest cluster of streets and plots with the river close by, and around it the landscape opens into broad, flat country where roads are few and the ground is shaped more by seasonal water than by buildings.
The area is part of the Kafue Flats region, where the river spreads across wide floodplains during the rains. It is traditionally cattle country, associated with the Ila people, and the rhythm of grazing land and water shapes how the town relates to its surroundings. The map shows that relationship clearly: a small grid, a river, and a great deal of open space.
A Namwala map poster is a study in restraint. There is no dense street web to fill the sheet, so the composition relies on the course of the Kafue, the few roads leading out of town and the quiet geometry of the settlement itself. In black and white, that simplicity becomes the design.
The river passes close to the town and provides the strongest line on the map, a winding channel that anchors the composition against the open land around it.
Wide, flat ground surrounds Namwala with very little built on it, so the poster carries generous white space that frames the town rather than crowding it.
The settlement is small and simply laid out, with a handful of streets and plots that read cleanly at every print size, from A3 up to 24×36 inches.
