Te mapa
The name Ngã Bảy means roughly seven-way junction, and the map explains it at once. Seven canals and rivers converge on one spot in the lower Mekong Delta, and the town has grown outward along their banks, so streets tend to follow water rather than a grid. From above, the result looks like a star drawn in rivers, with buildings strung along each arm.
For a long time this junction hosted the Phụng Hiệp floating market, where boats gathered to trade fruit and produce at the meeting of the waterways. Roads and bridges have since taken over much of that role, but the canal network still decides where people live, and the market remains one of the best-known river scenes of the delta.
A Ngã Bảy map poster makes the waterways the protagonist. Canal banks become long parallel strokes, bridges stitch the arms together, and the flat land between is broken into narrow plots running back from the water. It is a rare case where a town's name, its history and its shape on paper all describe the same thing.
The confluence where seven waterways meet is the natural focal point of the poster, a small open space of water with channels fanning outward like spokes.
Houses and roads line the canal banks in narrow strips, so the built-up area appears as ribbons that follow each channel out into the countryside.
Between the canals, long thin plots and irrigation ditches run at right angles to the water, adding the fine, repeating texture typical of the Mekong Delta.

Koteā ko Ngã Bảy
For anyone with roots in the Mekong Delta, this is a map that reads as home at first glance. Even for those who have never been, the radiating channels make a striking graphic, closer to a diagram than to an ordinary street plan.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a date, and choose from five styles, including Blueprint, which suits the water-heavy layout. Digital files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
