Ntuzuma is a township in KwaZulu-Natal, part of the wider eThekwini area north of central Durban. It sits among other townships in a stretch of hilly country, and on a map the terrain is obvious. The roads curve along ridges and dip into valleys, and there are very few straight lines.
The neighbourhoods are divided into sections, each a close pattern of small plots and short streets fitted onto the slopes. Main roads link Ntuzuma with neighbouring areas and the routes into Durban, and the smaller streets branch off them into dense residential clusters. Open ground along streams and steep slopes breaks up the built areas.
