Te mapa
Nueve de Julio is a town in the west of Buenos Aires province, surrounded by the flat, fertile farmland of the pampas. Founded in 1863, it takes its name from 9 July, the date of Argentina's declaration of independence in 1816. The map shows the classic Argentine plan at its clearest: square blocks, long straight streets and a central plaza at the heart of the grid.
Because the land around it is almost perfectly level, nothing interrupts the geometry. Wide avenues mark the edges of the original town, newer neighbourhoods continue the pattern outward, and beyond them rural roads divide the countryside into large rectangular fields. Railway lines, once essential to moving grain from the region, still draw long strokes across the surrounding plain.
A Nueve de Julio map poster has the satisfying order of a drawing made with a ruler. The regularity of the blocks gives the print a strong, graphic texture, while the open fields around the edges soften the composition and set the town firmly in its landscape of grain, pasture and wide horizons.
Square blocks extend from the main plaza in every direction, forming one of the most regular street patterns a map can show.
Broad avenues frame the original town, creating a clear boundary between the historic grid and the neighbourhoods that grew beyond it.
Rail lines leave the town across the pampas, drawing long straight strokes that break the rectangular rhythm of the surrounding fields.

Koteā ko Nueve de Julio
Nueve de Julio is the kind of town people carry with them long after they leave for Buenos Aires or further afield. Its orderly grid makes it easy to find the family house, the school or the plaza where everyone met on Sundays.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a surname or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a matte print, optionally framed, or download the files for $9.
