Te mapa
Nusapenida Island, more often written Nusa Penida, lies across the Badung Strait from Bali's southeast coast. It is the largest of a group of three islands. The other two, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, sit just off its northwestern side across a narrow channel. The island belongs to Bali's Klungkung regency, but its dry limestone landscape looks quite different from the rice terraces of the mainland.
The northern coast is where the island meets the outside world: a low shore lined with villages, small harbours and a coastal road. Inland, the ground climbs to a rolling plateau crossed by narrow, winding lanes. On the southern and western sides it ends abruptly in high cliffs above the Indian Ocean. A Nusapenida Island map poster captures this lopsided shape, busy on one side and bare on the other.
The waters around the island are known for manta rays, which gather at cleaning stations off the southwest coast, and for seasonal sightings of ocean sunfish. On land, cliff viewpoints such as Kelingking have become some of the most photographed places in Indonesia. They are reached along the plateau's twisting roads, which show on the map as fine, irregular threads.
A road follows most of the northern shore, linking the villages and harbours where boats arrive from Bali. It forms the main horizontal line across the map.
Narrow roads loop and branch across the limestone interior, a tangle of thin curves that connects farming hamlets rather than leading to any central town.
Along the south and west, the island ends in steep cliffs. The coastline turns crisp and angular there, with small coves and headlands facing the open ocean.

Koteā ko Nusapenida Island
Many people know Nusa Penida from a single day trip or a long dive week, and a map makes that visit into something more lasting than a photo of a famous cliff. The outline, with its smaller neighbours tucked to one side, is instantly recognisable to anyone who has crossed from Bali.
