Te mapa
Ouangolodougou lies in the Savanes District of northern Ivory Coast, close to the border with Burkina Faso. The land here is open savanna, flat and lightly wooded, and the town appears on the map as a spread of streets and compounds gathered along the main road and the railway, with farmland fanning out on every side.
The town sits on the Abidjan–Niger railway, which links the port of Abidjan with Ouagadougou, and on the main road north toward Burkina Faso. Its role as a transit and trading point for goods and travellers crossing the border shapes its layout, with activity concentrated where these routes pass through.
An Ouangolodougou map poster shows the essential elements of a savanna crossroads: the straight line of the railway, the road running beside it, and the looser mesh of residential lanes between them. In black and white the town's structure is simple and strong, a fitting image for a place defined by movement.
The Abidjan–Niger railway runs through the town, a long, straight line that anchors the composition and hints at the journey between coast and interior.
The main road toward Burkina Faso passes through the centre, the town's busiest corridor and the line along which much of its growth is concentrated.
Beyond the built-up area, the map opens into fields and open savanna crossed by tracks, a pale, spacious border around the town.
