Te mapa
Bouaké is the second-largest city in Ivory Coast, set on gently rolling savanna in the centre of the country, far from the lagoons of the coast. From above, it spreads widely in every direction, with a denser core around the central market and residential districts made of small blocks and irregular lanes stretching toward the fields beyond.
The city grew as a crossroads, served by the railway linking Abidjan with Ouagadougou and by the main roads running north toward Burkina Faso and Mali. Its market makes it a major trading centre for the region. Between 2002 and 2011, Bouaké was the headquarters of the rebel forces that controlled the north of the country during the civil conflict.
A Bouaké map poster shows the city's layout as a network of arteries meeting at the centre, with the railway line running through it and a fine grain of neighbourhood streets filling the space in between. Seen in black and white, the pattern is clear, open and quietly expressive.
The commercial heart of the city sits at the meeting point of several main roads, where the street pattern is at its densest.
The Abidjan–Ouagadougou line crosses the city from south to north, a long, continuous stroke that clearly divides the urban area.
At the outskirts, small blocks and tracks gradually give way to open land, so the city's outline fades softly into the surrounding countryside.

Koteā ko Bouaké
Bouaké is a city many Ivorians have ties to through family, trade or school years. A clean map of its streets is a thoughtful way to keep that connection visible, whether at home in Ivory Coast or abroad.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The printed poster ships from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
