Te mapa
Pacaraima is a town in the state of Roraima, in the far north of Brazil, right on the border with Venezuela. It stands at the northern end of the BR-174 highway, which runs up from Manaus through Boa Vista. Just across the line lies the Venezuelan town of Santa Elena de Uairén, and on a map the two face each other across the frontier.
The town is built on higher ground in the Pacaraima range. Its streets follow the hilly terrain rather than a strict grid, and the highway serves as the main axis. Much of the municipality lies within Indigenous lands, and the surrounding country of open savanna and hills looks very different from the rainforest that covers much of northern Brazil.
In recent years Pacaraima has been the main entry point for people crossing from Venezuela, and the town has been at the centre of that movement. It is also a gateway to the Gran Sabana and the table mountains beyond the border. A Pacaraima map poster puts the town, the frontier and the highway into one simple frame.
The frontier with Venezuela runs just beyond the town, and the road crossing to Santa Elena de Uairén joins the two street networks.
The highway enters from the south and forms the main axis of the town, one long line that ties this remote place to Boa Vista and Manaus.
Pacaraima sits on hilly ground, so its streets bend and branch with the terrain, giving the map a looser, more organic pattern than a lowland town.

Koteā ko Pacaraima
For those who have lived or worked in Pacaraima, crossed the border here or have family on both sides, the town carries a particular meaning. A map of it is a quiet way to mark that experience.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a date of arrival or a name. Choose from five styles, including Paper and Sand, and order a printed poster or the $9 HD files in six sizes.
