Te mapa
Padua is a small settlement in the Tolima Department of Colombia, high in the Cordillera Central of the Andes. It is a village rather than a town, and its layout is shaped almost entirely by the terrain. On a map it appears as a short run of streets along the main road, with steep ground falling away on either side.
The road through Padua links the Tolima side of the range with Caldas and Manizales, and much of the traffic simply passes through. Outside the village the network shrinks to a few winding routes and tracks that follow ridgelines and drop into valleys, while streams cut deep folds into the slopes.
At this altitude the climate is cool, and the countryside is given over to farms and pasture, with coffee grown lower down in the region. A Padua map poster is less about a dense street pattern and more about setting: a small cluster of lines in a landscape of curves that follow the shape of the mountains.
The built-up area follows the main road for a short stretch, which makes the village a narrow, linear shape rather than a compact grid.
The route through Padua bends constantly as it crosses the Cordillera Central, and in a wider frame its looping line is the strongest element on the map.
Watercourses run down the slopes in steep folds, adding thin, branching lines that show how broken the terrain is around the village.

Koteā ko Padua
People with roots in northern Tolima, and travellers who crossed the Andes on this road, may want a quiet reminder of the place. The map shows a small village in a large landscape, which gives the print a calm, spacious feel.
Change the title or add a subtitle with a family name or a date, and keep the coordinates for precision. With five styles, including Blueprint and Sand, and six print sizes, the poster works in most rooms.
