Te mapa
Facatativá sits at the western edge of the Bogotá savanna, the high plateau of the Eastern Andes, about 2,600 metres above sea level. From above, the town lies where the flat plain ends and the land starts to rise into hills. Its streets spread across the plain, and on the western side they begin to climb.
The centre has a regular Spanish colonial grid around a main square. Newer neighbourhoods and industrial areas spread outward along the roads to Bogotá and toward the west. A railway once linked Facatativá to the capital, and its line is still visible in the city's layout.
The name comes from the Muisca language and is often translated as a strong enclosure at the end of the plain. Nearby is the Piedras del Tunjo Archaeological Park, with large rock formations and ancient rock paintings. A Facatativá map poster shows the town at the edge of the savanna, between plain and hills.

The flat Bogotá plain ends at Facatativá and the land begins to rise. On the map the smooth plain contrasts with the more irregular roads in the hills to the west.
This archaeological park has large rock formations and pre-Hispanic paintings. It forms an open green area among the town's streets.

Koteā ko Facatativá
Many people in Facatativá live between the town and Bogotá, and a map of home is a way to mark where they belong. Personalise the title with a family name or a date and keep the coordinates or use a short line in Spanish instead.
Classic keeps the colonial grid sharp, and Paper, Sand, Noir and Blueprint are also available. Download the $9 HD files in six sizes from 30×40 cm to 24×36 inches, or order a matte print with a wooden frame.
