Te mapa
Bogotá sits on a high plateau in the Andes, at about 2,600 metres, with a wall of mountains along its eastern side. The city cannot grow east, so it extends north, south and west across the flat savanna. On a map it reads as a long band pressed against the hills, with the Bogotá River marking much of its western edge.
Most of the street plan follows a simple numbered system. Calles run roughly east to west and carreras north to south, so an address works almost like a coordinate. The historic centre, La Candelaria, lies at the foot of the mountains around the Plaza de Bolívar, with colonial houses on narrow sloping streets. Above it, Monserrate rises to a church at the summit.
Bogotá is known for its experiments with public space, including the Sunday Ciclovía, when major roads close to cars, and the TransMilenio bus network, whose dedicated lanes run down several main avenues. A Bogotá map poster shows the full length of the city, from the dense old centre to the wide northern districts, with the mountains as its fixed boundary.
The Cerros Orientales rise sharply along the eastern side, including Monserrate and Guadalupe. On the poster the streets stop abruptly against their slopes, creating a strong, straight edge.
A numbered grid covering much of the city, with calles counting northward and carreras counting westward. It gives the map a remarkably even, lattice-like texture.
A large metropolitan park west of the centre, with a lake and open lawns. It is one of the biggest green spaces in the city and forms a broad open area within the grid.

Koteā ko Bogotá
People connect with Bogotá through specific places: a barrio, a university in La Candelaria, a Sunday ride on the Ciclovía. A map of the whole city sets those memories against the mountains that many bogotanos use to find their bearings.
Write a title and subtitle, perhaps a date or an address, and keep the coordinates line or edit it. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
