Te mapa
Palaió Fáliro stretches along the Saronic Gulf south of central Athens. Its streets form a fairly regular grid that runs from the inland neighbourhoods down to the sea, where a wide coastal avenue follows the shoreline. The waterfront is lined with a marina, promenades and parks, so the southern edge of the map is long and clean.
The name comes from ancient Phaleron, the harbour Athens used before the port moved to Piraeus. Today one of the district's best-known landmarks is the armoured cruiser Georgios Averof, a museum ship moored at the marina near the park of maritime tradition, and the Flisvos marina is a popular place for walks by the water.
A Palaió Fáliro map poster is about the meeting of city and sea. The dense block pattern of Athens stops at the coast road, and the curved outline of the bay closes the composition. It is a good choice for anyone who lives by this stretch of water.
A broad road runs along the shore and separates the street grid from marinas and seaside parks, forming the clear lower edge of the map.
Jetties and harbour basins stand out along the waterfront, where the museum ship Averof is moored near the district's maritime park.
Faliro takes its name from Phaleron, the port of ancient Athens before Piraeus took over, so the bay has served the city for a very long time.

Koteā ko Palaió Fáliro
Palaió Fáliro is where many Athenians grew up within walking distance of the sea, and its map captures exactly that: streets that lead down to the water. It makes a good memento of a home or of summers spent by the bay.
Add a title such as a street or a year, a subtitle and coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come without a watermark in six print sizes.
