Te mapa
Pālghar lies on the northern Konkan coast of Maharashtra, north of Mumbai, in low country where rivers and tidal creeks run toward the Arabian Sea. From above, the town follows the Western Railway corridor. Its denser core clusters around the station, while roads branch out toward villages, orchards and the shore a short distance to the west.
In 2014, Pālghar became the headquarters of a new district created from the northern part of Thane district. Suburban rail connections link it to the Mumbai region, and much of its daily life follows that line. The surrounding landscape is a mix of paddy fields, coconut groves, fishing settlements and small hills.
A Pālghar map poster captures the structure of a railway town in coastal country. The track forms a strong north-south spine, the streets branch irregularly on either side, and the land toward the coast is broken by creeks and water channels. The map is modest and open, with more space and more water than the dense city further south.
The Western Railway line runs straight through the town, and the station area anchors the densest cluster of streets on the map.
West of the town, tidal creeks and river mouths wind through low ground toward the Arabian Sea coastline, softening the edge of the map.
As the seat of a district formed in 2014, the town has administrative buildings and newer roads alongside older village lanes.
