Te mapa
Paraisópolis lies in the south of Minas Gerais, close to the border with São Paulo, in the hilly country at the foot of the Serra da Mantiqueira. The town occupies a valley surrounded by rolling hills, and on a map its streets bend with the terrain, forming irregular blocks rather than a strict grid.
The surrounding municipality is largely rural, with pasture, farms and patches of forest spread over the hills, and roads following ridges and valleys toward neighbouring towns in the Mantiqueira region. Small streams run through the valley floor, and the town's streets cluster around them before thinning out on the higher slopes.
A Paraisópolis map poster shows an intimate mountain-town pattern: a dense centre, winding streets and open, hilly land all around. In print it has a soft, organic character that sets it apart from the planned grids of the Brazilian interior further west.
The town sits in a valley among hills, so the built-up area is compact and follows the lower ground where streams run.
Streets curve with the slopes, forming irregular blocks and giving the map a softer, more organic look than a grid town.
The Serra da Mantiqueira rises nearby, and the surrounding rural roads trace ridges and valleys across rolling countryside.
