Te mapa
Peralassery is in Kannur district, in northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the Malabar coast. The town is best known for its Subrahmanya temple, whose large stepped temple tank is one of the best-known features of the area. Pilgrims from across the region come to the temple, and the roads from nearby towns meet near it.
The land around Peralassery is typical of the Malabar midlands. Low hills of red laterite are separated by narrow valleys used for paddy, and houses are scattered among coconut and areca palms instead of being packed into blocks. Roads follow the ridges and valley floors, so the street network looks loose and branching.
A Peralassery map poster captures this spread-out settlement pattern. There is no dense centre surrounded by suburbs. Instead, lanes and houses spread fairly evenly across the land, with a few main roads linking them. In monochrome it looks soft and organic, the opposite of a planned city.
The Subrahmanya temple and its large stepped tank form the town's focal point. On the map, main roads converge toward this compact sacred site.
Narrow strips of low paddy land lie between the hills. They appear as open spaces running between the more densely settled slopes.
Minor roads divide and wind across the midland hills. Together they form a fine, tree-like network that covers the poster evenly.

Koteā ko Peralassery
For families from Kannur district, and for people who visit the temple, Peralassery is a place they return to often. A map of the town is a quiet way to keep that connection on the wall, whether in Kerala or abroad.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be written however you like, with a family house name or a festival date. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper suits the soft, organic street pattern.
