Te mapa
Peringathur lies in the Kannur district of northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the Arabian Sea coast. Like most places in this part of the state, it is less a defined town than a continuous spread of homes and small centres along roads. Hills, groves and streams shape where people have built.
The landscape here is made of low laterite hills and narrow valleys, drained by rivers that flow west toward the coast. Roads keep to the higher ground where possible, while paddy fields and wetland occupy the valley floors. This pattern, repeated across the region, gives northern Kerala its characteristic mix of dense population and abundant green space.
A Peringathur map poster renders this as a fine web of curving roads and lanes, with thicker main routes carrying traffic toward nearby towns and the coast. Watercourses cut across the frame in soft, irregular lines, and the gaps between settlements read as open land. It is an intricate, organic map that rewards close viewing.
Streams and rivers flow west through the area toward the Arabian Sea, crossing the map as fluid lines that divide the settlement into distinct pockets.
Low hills of red laterite rise between the valleys, and the roads that follow their crests form the main framework of the street pattern.
Small commercial centres grow where roads meet, showing on the poster as tighter clusters of lines within the otherwise even spread of homes.

Koteā ko Peringathur
Many people from Kannur district live elsewhere in India or in the Gulf, and a map of Peringathur keeps a connection to home. The poster's delicate lines also make it a good match for bright, minimal interiors.
