Pingyin Map Poster & Print
Pingyin is a county of Jinan, the capital of Shandong, lying southwest of the city on the eastern side of the Yellow River. The map shows a compact county town on flat ground. The river's broad, embanked channel runs to the west, and low hills rise to the east. Villages and fields fill the land in between, linked by straight rural roads.
The county is best known for roses. Pingyin has grown them for centuries, and the flowers are made into oils, teas and preserves, which has made the area one of China's best-known rose-growing regions. In spring the fields around the villages are in bloom, though on a map they appear simply as open farmland between settlements.
