Te mapa
Piton Saint-Leu sits on the western slopes of Réunion, above the coastal town of Saint-Leu. Roads zigzag up the hillside, and houses spread along them in ribbons. Above and below, steep ravines carve narrow gullies straight down toward the sea, so the map is a play of switchbacks and deep, parallel lines.
Saint-Leu's coast is well known on the island. It has a sheltered lagoon behind the reef, a surf break that draws riders from abroad, and hillsides used as launch points for paragliding over the bay. The turtle care centre Kélonia is also on this shore. Piton Saint-Leu looks down over all of it from the heights.
A Piton Saint-Leu map poster captures the way Réunion's settlements climb from coast to mountain. The lower edge meets the ocean and the upper streets thin out toward cane fields and forest. In black and white the slope becomes a strong diagonal composition.
Roads double back on themselves to climb the steep western slope, creating sharp zigzags that are among the most striking lines on the map.
Deep gullies run down the hillside toward the coast, splitting the settlement into strips and giving the print a strong sense of direction.
Downhill, the shoreline of Saint-Leu with its reef-sheltered lagoon closes the frame, contrasting the busy slope with the open line of the ocean.

Koteā ko Piton Saint-Leu
For islanders and anyone who has watched the sunset over Saint-Leu bay, this map holds the feeling of living on a slope between mountain and sea. It is a graphic reminder of a very particular landscape.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a family or a date, and keep the coordinates line. Blueprint echoes the ocean, while Noir gives the ravines a dramatic depth.
