Poio Map Poster & Print
Poio is a municipality on the north side of the Ría de Pontevedra in Galicia, facing the city of Pontevedra across the mouth of the Lérez river. It includes the Monastery of San Xoán de Poio and the fishing village of Combarro, famous for the hórreos, the traditional stone granaries, lined up along its waterfront.
On the map, the coastline is the main character. The shore curves west from the Lérez along the ría, with small coves, beaches and harbours, while houses and villages spread up the green slopes behind. Roads follow the coast, and a network of smaller lanes climbs inland between fields and woodland.
