Purranque is a town in Osorno Province, in the Los Lagos Region of southern Chile. It sits in the green agricultural country between the Pacific coastal range and the Andean lakes. The town is laid out as a tidy grid of blocks, and on the map that grid ends quickly, giving way to a patchwork of fields and farm roads.
Farming, and dairy farming in particular, defines this part of Chile, and the landscape around the town reflects it.
