Te mapa
Quanzhou lies on the coast of southern Fujian. The Jin River flows past the old city before it reaches Quanzhou Bay, and the Luoyang River enters the sea further north. On a map the historic centre is a close, irregular web of lanes. New districts spread out around it along wide avenues, heading towards the bay and the neighbouring cities.
During the Song and Yuan dynasties, Quanzhou was one of the busiest ports in the world, visited by merchants from across Asia and the Middle East. That period was recognised by UNESCO in 2021. Its traces include the Kaiyuan Temple with its twin pagodas, the Qingjing Mosque and the long stone Luoyang Bridge.
A Quanzhou map poster sets that layered history against the shape of the coast. The fine grain of the old town sits at the centre, rivers and estuaries curve around it, and the bay opens to the southeast. It is a map that rewards close looking. Many of the old lanes follow routes that are centuries old.
The historic core is a dense, irregular network of narrow streets around Kaiyuan Temple. It contrasts sharply with the broad, straight roads of the newer districts.
The Jin River bends past the southern edge of the city and widens towards the bay. It gives the poster a strong curving line and an open expanse of water.
This long medieval stone bridge crosses the Luoyang River estuary to the northeast. It appears as a thin, deliberate line over the water.

Koteā ko Quanzhou
Quanzhou draws people interested in maritime history. It also holds meaning for families with roots in southern Fujian, many of whom now live across Southeast Asia and beyond. A map of the old port can keep that connection close.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a place or a date, and adjust the coordinates line if you like. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
