Repelón is a municipality in the south of Colombia's Atlántico department, in the flat country inland from the Caribbean coast. Its most striking neighbour is the Embalse del Guájaro, a large reservoir whose waters spread out beside the town. On the map the lake is a broad, irregular shape that dominates one side of the sheet and gives the whole composition its weight.
The town itself has a compact, mostly regular street grid, with a central plaza and blocks extending toward the water and the farmland.
