Te mapa
Rinkeby is a district in the Spånga-Tensta borough of northwest Stockholm, built in the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of Sweden's Million Programme. That planning era is clear on a map. Apartment blocks are set in long, repeated rows and arcs, traffic is kept to the edges, and footpaths run through the middle of the neighbourhood.
At the centre is Rinkeby torg, a square with shops and services above the metro station on the blue line. Like many stations on that line, it was cut into bedrock, and its platforms are decorated with artwork. Housing spreads from the square in regular formations, with courtyards and play areas between the buildings.
To the north and east lies Järvafältet, a large protected green area that gives the district an open edge. A Rinkeby map poster shows the planned geometry of the estate against that open landscape, making clear how carefully designed this part of Stockholm is.
Rows and arcs of apartment buildings repeat across the district, a planned geometry typical of the Million Programme and very striking in black and white.
The central square sits above the blue line metro station, the meeting point of the neighbourhood's footpaths and the practical centre of daily life.
A large protected area of fields and woodland borders the district, leaving a broad open space next to the dense housing on the print.

Koteā ko Rinkeby
Rinkeby is home to a close community, and many people who grew up there stay attached to it after moving on. A map of its paths and courtyards is a quiet, lasting way to show where you are from.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line of your choice and pick from five styles, including Blueprint, which suits the planned layout well. It is available as a $9 digital download or as a printed poster from partners in more than 30 countries.
