Te mapa
Río Chico is a town on the Barlovento coast of Miranda state, east of Caracas, on low ground near the Caribbean. From above, water is everywhere. The river that gives the town its name winds toward the sea, and the coast lies close by, with a narrow strip of beach and mangrove separating the land from the open water.
The town is known for its canals. Residential areas were built around a network of dug channels, so many houses have water frontage and small boat docks, and on a map the canals appear as long, regular fingers of water pushing into the land. They contrast sharply with the natural curves of the river and the coastline.
Just to the east lies the Laguna de Tacarigua, a large coastal lagoon protected as a national park and known for its mangroves and birdlife. A Río Chico map poster combines all of this: the old town centre, the geometric canals, the winding river and, at the edge, the broad calm shape of the lagoon.
Straight dug channels reach into the housing areas in parallel lines. They form one of the most distinctive patterns on the map and look striking in Blueprint.
The Río Chico curves across the low coastal plain toward the sea, a natural, meandering line that frames the town and its canals.
The broad lagoon to the east, protected as a national park, adds a large expanse of water edged with mangroves to the side of the composition.
