Te mapa
Rio Maria is a municipality in the southeast of Pará, in the eastern Brazilian Amazon. From above, the town takes its shape from the highway that runs through it: a long spine with blocks of streets laid out on either side in a regular pattern. The settlement is relatively young, having grown during the decades when roads opened this part of the region to farming and settlement.
The surrounding landscape is dominated by cattle pasture, with rivers and streams winding between the fields. On a map, that gives the town a clear edge, a planned grid set within an open, rural area crossed by winding watercourses and straight property lines. The contrast between the orderly town and the irregular drainage around it is one of the most interesting features of the view.
A Rio Maria map poster brings that geometry forward. The highway divides the town, the grid fills in evenly on either side, and the rural roads branch out toward the surrounding farms. In black and white, it becomes a clear portrait of a frontier town in the Amazon, built quickly and still growing along the road that created it.
The main road runs straight through the town and organises everything around it, drawing a strong central line from one edge of the poster to the other.
Streets meet at right angles in a regular grid, typical of towns laid out during the region's settlement, giving the map a tidy, measured texture.
Small watercourses curve through the surrounding land, their loose, natural lines standing in clear contrast to the straight geometry of the town's streets.

Koteā ko Rio Maria
Rio Maria is home to families who built lives on a new frontier, and many who left still think of its streets. A map poster keeps that place present, whether it hangs in the town itself or in a home far away.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Digital files cost $9 in six sizes with no watermark, or order a printed poster from partners in 30+ countries.
