Te mapa
Açailândia lies in western Maranhão, in a region that was largely forest until recent decades. The town grew up along the Belém–Brasília highway, and on a map that road is its backbone, with streets laid out in regular blocks on either side. The Carajás railway, which carries iron ore from Pará to the coast at São Luís, also runs through the municipality.
Its position on these routes brought industry, especially pig iron production, alongside cattle ranching and farming on the surrounding land. The town has grown fast, mostly in simple grids. Newer neighbourhoods extend outward in blocks that follow the main roads and the gently rolling terrain.
An Açailândia map poster shows a young town clearly: the long line of the highway, the ordered blocks on either side, the railway and industrial sites, and the rural roads and streams reaching into the countryside. It is a portrait of the Brazilian interior as a place still being built.
The BR-010 runs through the town and forms the main axis around which the shopping streets and first neighbourhoods grew.
The railway carrying iron ore to the Atlantic crosses the area in a long, gently curving line, linking the mining region to the west with the port far to the northeast.
Away from the highway, streets form regular rectangular blocks, a clear sign of the rapid, planned growth that followed the opening of the region.

Koteā ko Açailândia
Açailândia is a town of arrivals, built by people who came from all over Brazil for work and land. For them and their families, a map poster marks the place where a new life began, and its clean lines look good in any room.
You can add a family name or the year you arrived in the subtitle, change the title and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a printed matte poster.
