Te mapa
Rokugō is a town in Akita Prefecture, at the eastern edge of the broad plain between the Ōu Mountains and the Dewa hills. On a map it looks like much of rural northern Japan: a small, dense centre, then field boundaries, irrigation channels and farm roads that divide the land into a regular pattern.
The town is best known for its water. Dozens of springs rise across Rokugō, and together they are listed among Japan's selected famous waters. The springs feed ponds, shrines and canals throughout the town, which is why the name is closely linked to clear, cold groundwater.
Rokugō also holds a well-known winter festival, with snow huts and a lively bamboo-pole battle in February. A Rokugō map poster shows the everyday layout behind these traditions: small streets, water channels and fields reaching toward the mountains on the eastern side of the frame.
Many springs rise throughout the town and feed small ponds and channels. On the poster, thin waterways run between the streets and link the centre with the fields.
Around the town, farm roads divide the plain into regular rectangular plots. At poster scale this creates an even, graphic texture across the page.
To the east the land rises toward the Ōu range. The dense road network gives way to a few valley roads, which gives the composition a natural boundary.

Koteā ko Rokugō
Rokugō appeals to people who like quiet places defined by landscape rather than landmarks, as well as to anyone with family ties to rural Akita. The mix of water channels and field patterns makes a calm, well-balanced image.
You can change the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example to mark a festival year or a family home. Paper and Sand suit the farmland. Blueprint shows the waterways particularly clearly.
