Te mapa
Saint-Pol-sur-Mer is on the North Sea coast in the far north of France, directly west of central Dunkirk. It is now joined administratively to Dunkirk, but its streets keep their own character. On a map it sits between the port's large basins and the flat polder land that stretches inland.
The residential streets are close-set and regular, with the long terraces of brick houses that are typical of French Flanders. Canals and railway lines cut across the area, and to the north the map is taken up by docks, quays and industrial sites connected to the port. The land is entirely flat, reclaimed from marsh long ago and still drained by watercourses.
A Saint-Pol-sur-Mer map poster shows a port town in detail: neat blocks of housing on one side, the big geometric shapes of the harbour on the other, and canals connecting them. It is a working landscape rather than a picturesque one, and that is what gives it character on the wall.
North of the housing, the docks of the Dunkirk port form large rectangles of water and quay. Their scale is very different from the streets beside them.
The residential core is a tight pattern of parallel streets lined with row houses. It produces a fine, even texture on the map.
Canals and drainage channels cross the flat land. They recall the reclaimed marsh on which this part of the coast was built.

Many families in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer have ties to the port and to the industries that grew around it. A map of the streets and docks records that working landscape with care.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed. You might write the old commune name, a street or a date. Blueprint suits the docks and canals. Classic black and white and Paper suit the terraced streets.
