Te mapa
Salinas sits near the tip of the Santa Elena Peninsula, the part of Ecuador's coast that reaches furthest into the Pacific. The town lines a broad bay, with a long seafront promenade running behind the beach and apartment blocks facing the water. Behind that frontage is a regular street grid, and around the town lie dry coastal scrub and salt pans, which gave Salinas its name.
West of town, the land narrows to a rocky headland. Here, at La Chocolatera, waves churn against the rocks at the westernmost point of mainland Ecuador. Salinas is one of the country's best-known beach resorts, busy in the holiday season and popular for sport fishing. A yacht club and marina occupy part of the bay.
A Salinas map poster shows a clear contrast between the smooth arc of the bay and the sharp end of the peninsula. With so much sea on either side, the town looks like a thin strip of streets placed between two stretches of water. It makes a good reminder of summers on the coast for families from Guayaquil and Quito.
A long curving bay with its seafront promenade forms the town's main edge. The coastline is smooth and continuous, and makes an elegant line on the print.
The rocky headland at the peninsula's tip marks mainland Ecuador's westernmost point, where the land ends abruptly in a jagged edge against the Pacific.
Pale salt pans and dry, open land around the town give the map wide empty areas that reflect the arid character of the coast.

Koteā ko Salinas
Salinas is where many Ecuadorian families have spent holidays for generations. A map of the bay can hold years of summers, weddings or fishing trips. The strong coastline makes it one of the more graphic beach-town prints.
Add a family name, the year of a first visit or the name of a beach in the subtitle, and choose a style. Blueprint suits the large expanse of sea, and Noir makes the shoreline stand out sharply. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
