Te mapa
Samborondón is the seat of a canton in the Guayas province of Ecuador, on the flat, wet lowlands north of Guayaquil. The town itself lies on the Babahoyo River, and its map shows a compact grid of streets beside the water, with the river forming a broad, slow curve and farmland spreading out across the plain on every side.
The countryside here is devoted largely to rice, and the fields appear as a tight patchwork of rectangles divided by channels and embankments. Further south, within the same canton, lies La Puntilla, the peninsula between the Daule and Babahoyo rivers facing Guayaquil, known for its residential developments and shopping centres. The two parts of Samborondón feel very different, yet the rivers link them.
A Samborondón map poster focused on the old river town gives a quiet, rural composition shaped by water and fields. For many in the region the name also means La Puntilla, but the original town upriver has its own character, closer to the paddies than to the city, and its map shows exactly that.
The wide river runs alongside the town, its slow curve dominating the map and linking Samborondón with Guayaquil downstream to the south.
Paddies and irrigation channels form a dense grid of small rectangles around the town, a strong geometric texture across the lowlands.
The town's blocks sit close to the river in a regular pattern, a small, orderly centre surrounded by open agricultural land.

A map of Samborondón suits people who know the river town rather than only the suburbs, and those with family ties to the rice country of Guayas. Its composition of water, grid and fields is simple and easy to read on a wall.
