Te mapa
Sathon is a district of central Bangkok stretching from the east bank of the Chao Phraya River toward the city's commercial heart. Its defining feature is Sathon Road, a broad boulevard split into north and south carriageways with the narrow Khlong Sathon canal running between them. On the map this gives the district a strong central axis, lined with towers and embassies.
The canal was dug in the late nineteenth century by a Chinese merchant, and the road was built alongside it, opening the area to development. Today Sathon is one of Bangkok's main business districts, with office towers, hotels and residential condominiums. The elevated BTS Silom line and the Taksin Bridge across the Chao Phraya add more strong lines to the district's layout.
A Sathon map poster shows how the district sits between river and city. The curve of the Chao Phraya, the long straight canal road and the tight network of sois branching off it make a composition that is both ordered and intricate. It captures a part of Bangkok that is still defined by water, even as glass towers rise above it.
Khlong Sathon runs down the middle of the boulevard between two carriageways. Together they form a long, straight triple line that anchors the whole map.
The district meets the wide, curving river on its western side, where piers, riverside hotels and the Taksin Bridge mark the edge of the city.
Narrow side streets branch off the main roads in dense, irregular patterns, filling the blocks between avenues with the fine detail typical of Bangkok.

Koteā ko Sathon
Expats who worked in Sathon's towers, couples who met in Bangkok and Thai families with roots in the district hang this map as a record of city life. The river and the canal road give it an instantly recognisable form.
Add a title and a subtitle such as an address or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir brings out the night-time character of the business district.
