Te mapa
Din Daeng lies north of central Bangkok, just beyond the Victory Monument area. From above, it is a district of dense housing, market streets and residential lanes, bounded and crossed by some of the city's major roads. Elevated expressways run overhead in long curves, and the large arterial routes that pass through the district give the map strong, straight lines.
The district is known for its large public housing estate, a group of mid-rise apartment blocks built by the national housing authority from the 1960s onward, which remains one of the most recognisable residential areas in Bangkok. The blocks sit in orderly rows, in contrast to the narrower, irregular lanes found elsewhere in the district.
A Din Daeng map poster shows the layered structure of inner Bangkok: expressway ramps and interchanges, broad avenues, rows of housing blocks and a tangle of small lanes, or sois, between them. The result is dense and detailed, a map for people who know this part of the city from daily life.
Rows of public housing blocks form one of the district's defining features. On the poster they appear as a regular pattern among the irregular streets.
Elevated expressways cross the district in long curves, with ramps and interchanges drawing sweeping lines across the map.
Between the main roads, narrow residential lanes branch off in all directions, creating the fine, dense texture typical of Bangkok.

Koteā ko Din Daeng
Din Daeng is home to many Bangkok families who have lived there for generations, as well as newer residents drawn by its central location. A map of the district captures a place that feels intensely local.
