Te mapa
Satun is the capital of Thailand's southernmost province on the Andaman coast, close to the Malaysian border. The town sits on low ground near the sea, and its map is shaped as much by tidal creeks and mangrove forest as by roads. Water appears everywhere, cutting in from the coast in branching channels.
The centre is compact, with a small grid of shophouse streets and the old Kuden Mansion among its best-known buildings. From Tammalang pier, south of town, boats cross to the Malaysian island of Langkawi, and the province is also the gateway to the Tarutao islands and Ko Lipe.
A Satun map poster makes a feature of this meeting of land and water. The streets form a clear, orderly heart, while the mangroves around them dissolve into an intricate network of channels, especially beautiful when printed in a single colour.
Tidal creeks branch through the coastal mangroves around the town, creating a delicate, root-like pattern of waterways on the map.
The town core is a compact grid of streets lined with older shophouses, a tidy block of lines within the wetter landscape around it.
South of town, the pier and approach road reach toward the open water, the departure point for boats to Langkawi and a clear linear feature.

Koteā ko Satun
Satun is often a quiet stop on the way to the islands, yet the town itself leaves an impression. A map of it is a fitting keepsake for travellers, and a meaningful piece for those who call the south of Thailand home.
Add a personal title, subtitle and coordinates line, such as the date of a trip to the islands, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
