Te mapa
Shan Chaung is part of the Yangon Region, in Myanmar's largest city. The ground here is the low, flat land of the Irrawaddy delta, and on the map the neighbourhood reads as a close pattern of streets and small blocks, joined to the rest of Yangon by several main roads.
The word chaung means a creek or small stream in Burmese, a reminder of how much of Yangon was shaped by water. Creeks, drainage channels and nearby rivers form pale lines and bands in the city's map. Between them sit houses, markets, monasteries and apartment blocks packed into a fine, detailed grid.
A Shan Chaung map poster is best for people who know this part of Yangon personally: residents, students, people who lived here before moving abroad. Without names or colours, the streets become a clean pattern that still holds every familiar shortcut.
Small rectangular blocks and narrow side streets fill the frame, giving the poster a dense, even texture typical of Yangon's inner neighbourhoods.
Wider roads cross the area and connect it to the rest of the city, forming the strong lines that organise the composition.
As the name suggests, streams and channels are part of the delta landscape here, appearing as pale lines that break up the city blocks.

Koteā ko Shan Chaung
A map of Shan Chaung keeps a Yangon neighbourhood close, whether it is a childhood home, a first flat or a place remembered from far away. The fine pattern of streets is both personal and graphic.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, adding a name or a date, and print the map in Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
