Te mapa
Shangzhi is a county-level city administered by Harbin, in the south of Heilongjiang province. The urban area sits on a fairly level plain and follows the orderly pattern common to northeast Chinese towns: long straight avenues, wide blocks, and a railway line running along one side of the centre.
The city takes its name from Zhao Shangzhi, a commander of the resistance against Japanese occupation in the 1930s. Within its territory lies Yabuli, one of China's best-known ski areas, which hosted events of the 1996 Asian Winter Games. Beyond the town, farmland on the plain gives way to forested uplands.
A Shangzhi map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The regular street grid reads clearly at the centre, the railway traces a firm diagonal, and the surrounding roads and watercourses soften the edges. It makes an understated image of a place with long, cold winters and a clear, practical layout.
Shangzhi's centre is built on straight, evenly spaced avenues that cross at right angles, producing a crisp rectangular pattern that prints especially well in black and white.
A rail line passes along the urban area, marking one side of the town with a strong continuous stroke and a cluster of station tracks.
Routes heading southeast lead toward the Yabuli ski area and the forested uplands, giving the map a sense of direction away from the plain.

Koteā ko Shangzhi
For people from Shangzhi, or skiers who remember winters at Yabuli, the map is a calm reminder of the place without the need for words. Its geometric layout suits modern interiors and minimalist walls.
You can set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a year or a name, and adjust the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
