Te mapa
Shankou is a coastal town in Hepu County, in the far south of Guangxi, facing the Gulf of Tonkin. The town itself is small on the map, a cluster of streets along the main roads, but the landscape around it is unusually detailed. Creeks, fish ponds and tidal channels break the coastline into many small shapes, and the shore shifts gradually from land to water.
The town gives its name to the Shankou Mangrove Nature Reserve, one of China's best-known protected mangrove areas. The reserve covers stretches of tidal coastline where mangrove forest grows between land and sea, and it is an important habitat for birds and marine life along this part of the coast.
A Shankou map poster is less about streets and more about the edge between land and sea. The broken coastline, the creeks and the rectangular fish ponds form a pattern that looks almost like an abstract drawing. It is a quiet, unusual image, very different from a typical city map.
Tidal channels and mangrove areas break the shoreline into small shapes, making the coast one of the most detailed features on the map.
Near the coast, rectangular ponds form a regular pattern that contrasts with the winding natural creeks around them.
The town's streets gather along its main roads, a compact core surrounded by farmland, water and the open sea.

Koteā ko Shankou
Shankou appeals to people with family in Hepu and Beihai, and to anyone who has visited the mangroves. The coastline's detail makes a distinctive print that feels closer to a nature study than a street plan.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a Chinese name or a visit date. Blueprint and Noir suit the complex coastline well. Download the $9 HD files in six sizes or order a printed poster shipped from partners in over 30 countries.
